This story was just told to me, but the version I heard was from the people of Bolivia and they substitute a frog for a monk! And, the story is going into a book I am working on editing and publishing soon. It is all about how nature is to be honored and respected, even if personal damage is inflicted by one party on another. If you read the book JOURNEY OF SOULS by Michael Newton, Ph.D. some of the wisdom in this story makes sense and that is why I wrote about the nature of the scorpion — a creature whose own body is filled with poison and which it uses when it is in its nature of fear. There is a bit of “scorpion nature” in every human being, yet when they recognize its there, they respect it and use it only when necessary. That is what makes the world a better, kinder place.
