The human function of dreaming leads to self-science questions and hypothesis. What foods/beverages enhance dream experiences? Is a person able to influence dream content by convincing the brain before sleep? How do ‘sleep hygiene’ activities influence ability to dream? The night before my annual physical, I dreamed I was flying under my own power…when I mentioned this to the M.D., he said, “That tells me a lot about your mental state!” I’m not really sure what I imparted, but dreaming of flying under my own power is one of my most favorite things to do in this human life. (And, for dessert on the night prior to the dream, I ate a cookie that had lavender flowers baked into it. Hmmm.)
