A bird with a sense of humor and a unique sense of time.

Hatch from an egg
look towards the sun
stretch out a leg
go for a run.

Ignore stingers
eschew thunder
endure heat of
desert summer.

Then, in winter,
measure distance
as you dream up
your existence.

Think not of time.
Keep to present.
Speed when needed
to stop this rhyme.

QUESTION: What is the value of the energy of the past? Creatures of the desert know the answer…even if they cannot ask that question.
