Bones of Standing

Stand I to hear,
to see, to feel,
to taste, and touch
what left a wheal.

A whip was cracked
by unseen hand
and caused a scourge —
a viral strand.

Noble illness!
Panics. Fleeing.
Indoors, alone,
humans being.

Behind mask — ask.
Beyond glove — love.
Stand you to sense
you’re worthy of.
